Clear Vision

October 29th, 2020

When the vision is clear the strategy becomes even clearer.

I spent the last seven days fasting and praying for guidance and direction for the next chapter. The word of God tells us that when we need guidance and direction go into fasting. Anyone can deprive themselves of food for a certain time but what God honors is your commitment to getting in position to hear from Him. He's looking at your actions as he wants to hear your heart as he intercedes for you. He longs for intimacy with you!

People perish for lack of vision. 2020 has given me not only clear vision but now direction and strategy for that vision.

If you plan to live a life of purpose, you have to get clear on what it is God is calling you to do. I'd say this shift happened for me about seven years ago. Although, I recognized there was a shift happening, what I failed to do was pray and move. I was comfortable that there was a vision, content that God was going to take me to the next level and caught up in what I thought that direction was. I was trying to figure it out on my own and failing fast. Failing isn't always a bad thing, it builds character and growth. But some of these things I could have totally avoided with God's help.

What I also understand now, is when God is trying to get your attention, He will make life uncomfortable for you. In my experience as a teacher, I'd spent thirteen years there and while I knew my time was up, I kept adding things to my plate to justify my reason for being there. I figured maybe God is moving to another role or to another school. I ultimately had to silence the noise around me and hear from God that is was time to leave and to trust Him with what was next.

If you desire a more fulfilled life and God has given you a clear vision of what that is and you're afraid to move, spend some time fasting and praying for direction. God's voice become clearer and the peace you have from fasting and praying is what you will most recognize when God gives you the answer you're looking for and next steps.

I love to see the meme of the caterpillar and the butterfly having lunch and the caterpillar says to the butterfly, "You've changed." and the butterfly responds, "We're supposed too."

Imagine being a caterpillar all your life never becoming a butterfly because it's so uncomfortable to change. It's nice where you are, why can't things always stay this way, right? It doesn’t work that way for a purposed-driven life.

We hear it all the time, 2020 will be the best year yet, 2021 will be the best year... any year can be your best year when you yield to God's direction and will for your life.

Are you ready to get clear?
